0.7 FTE Teacher – Browns Bay Taiaotea Kindergarten, 12 month Maternity Cover Contract starting Feb’20

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our lovely Browns Bay Taiaotea Kindergarten for a teacher seeking a part-time teaching position. This is a one-year maternity leave position and will give the successful candidate excellent experience working in a high functioning collaborative team. We require the person to begin work on Monday, 10th February 2020.

The kindergarten has a well-established place in the heart of its community with regular outings to a retirement village, the library and the beach. It is part of the Enviroschool network and is actively committed to the Association’s vision for sustainable futures for all our tamariki.

Children attend between the hours of 8.30 am – 2.30 pm and teachers between 8.00 am and 4.30 pm. This position is for 28 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Teachers experience excellent working conditions under the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA) (6 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional time, generous non-contact time) and the security of being part of a supportive Association that schedules regular Professional Development and an annual conference in July.

We can offer a supported induction and mentoring programme to a provisionally certificated teacher that includes additional release time. We are keen to grow a new teacher but also experienced teachers will have the opportunity to teach and learn alongside a great team.

We’d love to hear from you if you have a commitment to making sure all children experience an exceptional early years’ learning programme along with a commitment to sustainability and an interest in Enviroschools.

If you are interested in this wonderful opportunity, please apply today by sending in your CV along with a cover letter (and direct any enquiries to):
