HEAD TEACHER –Ā  full time, permanent

Weā€™re seeking a vibrant, motivated, creative, and passionate Head Teacher at Torbay Kindergarten to have operational and pedological oversight of a well-resourced centre with a committed team of 4 fully qualified teachers, a part time administrator, support person and a daily roll of 40 children.

Your exceptional leadership qualities will foster a positive learning environment that is committed to education excellence, maximises engagement with local community, and empowers learners, their whānau, and kaiako to actively work together to achieve their dreams and aspirations.

As part of the Northern Auckland Kindergarten Association t/a Kaitiaki Kindergartens, you are part of a network of 14 centres, provided with operational and governance support to deliver strategic goals and priorities. All Kaitiaki Kindergartens teachers are employed with the terms and conditions as laid out in the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA).

As a leader you will:
– Be able to demonstrate dynamic and inspiring leadership.
– To think strategically to deliver operational and financial objectives.
– Have pedagogical knowledge of Te Whāriki, Te Whatu Pokeka, NELPs, Te Ara Poutama.
– Understand and apply legislative and regulatory compliance.
– Be fully committed to Te Ao Māori, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and promote a bicultural learning environment.
– Have excellent communication skills and desire to actively work with all members of the wider kindergarten community and association.
– Be a collaborative and positive team player, fostering shared vision and goals.

Applicants must hold a recognised ECE teaching qualification; a current practising certificate and a current First Aid certificate; be a NZ Citizen or hold a current NZ work visa.
