Torbay Kindergarten Full Time Teaching Vacancy

We are still searching for the right person for this teaching position and hope that now everyone is almost back to normal we might hear from experienced teachers keen to join this high functioning kindergarten that prides itself with keeping abreast with current knowledge and has a strong commitment to its community.

The team consists of three full time teachers (including the head teacher) and two part-time teachers. The kindergarten is licensed for 40 children and has a big waiting list. All teachers contribute to strategic planning, annual plans, internal evaluations, collaborative appraisals, health and safety reviews as well as pedagogical duties that include teaching, planning and learning stories for 80 children (in two cohorts). One group of children attends 3 days a week and the other, younger group (3 years+) attend 2 days a week.

Children attend 8.30am – 2.30pm while full time teaching staff work 8.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Teachers enjoy excellent working conditions under the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA) along with the security of being part of the supportive Kaitiaki Kindergarten Association.

For this position teachers must:

• Share our commitment to ensuring all children experience an exceptional early childhood education
• Have strong documentation skills
• Be a supportive, hard-working and fun team member who can share the load
• Have recent successful teaching experience with 3-5-year-old children
• Hold a NZ recognised ECE teaching qualification,
• Hold a current full NZ practising certificate and a First Aid certificate, and
• Be a NZ citizen/resident or hold a NZ work visa
