Applications Close: 10.00am, 2nd December 2021

Vacancy reference #: 1HARPp

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our lovely Silverdale Kindergarten for a teacher seeking experience of working with a high functioning, collaborative, fully qualified teaching team and in a beautiful environment. This is a one-year parental leave position beginning on 14 February 2021 until 10 February 2023. The part-time hours (27, 0.675 FTE) are worked across 5 days with one late finish at 4.30pm on Mondays and an early start at 8am on Fridays.

Children attend between the hours of 8.30am – 2.30pm and full-time teachers work 8am to 4.30pm. Teachers experience excellent working conditions under the Kindergarten Teachers Collective Agreement (KTCA) (6 week’s annual leave, 3 week’s professional time, generous non-contact time) and the security of being part of a supportive Association that schedules regular PLD and an annual conference.

The team consists of a head teacher, 2 full time and 2 part-time teachers and a part-time support person who all work 5 days a week. The team are prepared to support a beginning teacher in their induction and mentoring programme.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:
• A commitment to making sure all children experience an exceptional early years’ learning programme
• A commitment to sustainability and an interest in Enviroschools
• A NZ recognised ECE teaching qualification
• Current NZ Teacher Certification
• Current First Aid Certificate and
• NZ citizenship/residency or hold a NZ work visa

Short listed applicants will be sent an interview pack that needs to be returned prior to the interview which will probably take place on Zoom with the Head Teacher and Professional Practice Leader (PPL). We may require a further in-person interview at the kindergarten when this is possible.

If you are interested in this wonderful opportunity, please first read the “Guidance on Applying for a Teaching Position” document under “Working for Us” and apply today by sending in your CV along with a cover letter (and direct any enquiries to):
